The Glacier in the crater....

After walking for about 6 miles up, we ended up at the foot of the new glacier. There used to be 2 but they both have flowed down to the north and merged. These two images give you a sense of scale. Zoom into the center of the bottom image and look for me... Then you will get a feel for how big the glacier is. The glacier was crumbling and dripping. It was amazing to be standing in the crater. Now the funny thing is I get to fly here with work in a helicopter.... I can not wait. I may even get a little closer to the inner dome;)
