We had a temperature inversion this weekend. It was freezing in the valey yet warm and sunny up at elevation. I wore shorts and skinned up to 8,000ft on Hood Saturday Morning. After a small lunch I headed up higher. It got really ice after 8,000ft. So I took my skis off and stopped at about 9,000. I took these shots of the blue ice... The wind was ripping down the gorge. In some placed the windspeed was 71mph. This made for some nice weather down the beach too. So on Sunday we headed down to Cannon Beach Oregon.-Marc
