About half way up, this is the view looking south to Mt Hood in Oregon.
When I summit, I celebrate with a big turkey sandwich and a can of Pringles.
This is the view looking north. That is Rainier in the upper right, and the blast zone from the eruption front and center. The snow cornis is right in front. Last month some brilliant snow mobiler parked his machine and got off to look over the edge, it gave way and he bounced all the way down. 2000ft below in the crater. He survived with a hyper-extended knee. A helicopter plucked him out...
The group from work I took up. Some have gone before some not. It took us about 5 hrs to get to the top. Carl brought skis, he carried them up and skied down.
